Prescription Guide
Keep each eye, sign and measurement clear before you order.
Start with the device and the original prescription
Keep a clear copy of your current eyeglass prescription beside you. Choose the exact device and lens product first, then copy the requested information for each eye. A prescription field on one product does not establish a rule for every headset or pair of display glasses.
This guide covers the current Fovevia insert listings for Meta Quest 2 / Quest 3S, Meta Quest 3, XREAL One / 1S and XREAL One Pro. For another device or smart-glasses replacement lenses, follow that product’s own requirements.
Fovevia team can explain the product fields and ordering process. An eye-care professional supplies or clarifies your prescription; website entry is not an eye examination.
The lenses are described as aspheric resin lenses. The material for a custom order may vary with its configuration; ask the Fovevia team to confirm the material if you have a specific requirement.
What the fields mean
| Field | Meaning | What to copy |
|---|---|---|
| OD / Right | Your right eye. | The right-eye row of your prescription. |
| OS / Left | Your left eye. | The left-eye row, even when it differs from the right. |
| SPH | Spherical lens power, in diopters. Minus and plus signs have different meanings. | The number and its sign. |
| CYL | Cylinder power for astigmatism. | The number and sign for that eye. |
| AXIS | The orientation of the cylinder correction, in degrees. | The axis paired with that eye’s nonzero CYL. |
| PD | Pupillary distance, in millimeters. | One total measurement or the documented right and left measurements, as requested. |
| ADD | Additional power for a near or intermediate viewing task. | Keep it on the original document for review; do not add it to SPH yourself. |
| Prism / Base | Prismatic correction and its direction. | Keep both power and direction available for review. |
PL or PLANO indicates zero spherical power. D.S. indicates a spherical prescription without cylinder. If notation on your document does not match a field, ask for clarification rather than selecting the closest-looking option.
For the general notation, see the Association of Optometrists’ prescription explanation.
An invented example: keep the eyes and signs separate
Prescription entry example: these sample values show how to enter each eye separately. They are for guidance only; use your own prescription when ordering.
| Eye | SPH | CYL | AXIS |
|---|---|---|---|
| OD / Right | -2.00 | -1.00 | 90 |
| OS / Left | -1.50 | 0.00 | Not applicable in this example |
For the example right eye, select SPH -2.00, CYL -1.00 and AXIS 90 in the right-eye fields. The left-eye row is a separate entry. Do not copy the right-eye values into both eyes or drop either minus sign.
AXIS 090 and 90 describe the same angle. An axis does not carry a plus or minus sign. When your own prescription has nonzero CYL but no readable AXIS, resolve that missing information before ordering.
A plus-cylinder prescription should retain its plus sign. Do not transpose it into minus-cylinder notation, round a value or change the numbers to fit a menu.
Which prescription document should you prepare?
The four insert listings covered here ask for a current eyeglass prescription with separate right- and left-eye information. A contact-lens label, the strength on ready-made readers or an old order summary should not replace that document.
If the document contains separate distance, reading, near or intermediate sections, progressive information, ADD or prism, ask Fovevia team which information the exact product can accept before ordering. Do not choose a section based only on how close the device sits to your face.
Keep all sections of the original document available for clarification. Do not calculate a different power, remove ADD or prism, or convert contact-lens values yourself. If you do not know which prescription your prescriber issued, ask your eye-care professional.
Ask a prescription-process question without placing your prescription document or complete values in the general Contact form.
PD: use the rule for your exact product
The current forms offer a single PD field and an “I have separate PD measurements” option. Selecting that option reveals right and left fields. Copy the format and measurements your document actually provides; do not estimate PD or split a total into two values yourself.
| Fovevia listing | Current PD guidance | Before you continue |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Quest 2 / Quest 3S | The form explains single or separate PD entry and asks you to consult your optometrist if it is missing. The listing does not state a separate PD range limit. | Provide the documented measurement when available; ask about missing information rather than guessing. |
| Meta Quest 3 | The current form explicitly describes PD as optional. | You may supply the documented single or separate measurements if available. |
| XREAL One / 1S | The form asks for PD as shown on your eyeglass prescription, including separate measurements when provided. | The listing asks you to contact support before ordering to confirm prescription availability. Include a question about missing PD in that review. |
| XREAL One Pro | The form explains single or separate PD entry and asks you to consult your optometrist if PD is missing. | Keep your measured PD separate from your glasses’ model or size selection. |
A headset’s IPD adjustment is a device setting; it does not supply an unknown measurement for an order. XREAL One Pro has device size variants, so confirm your exact glasses version as well as the prescription information.
How to use the current product fields
Step 1. Confirm the full model. Quest 3 and Quest 3S use different listings. XREAL One / 1S and XREAL One Pro also use separate listings.
Step 2. Choose Prescription lenses or Plano lenses. Plano provides no prescription correction. It is a separate selection, not a reason to enter invented prescription numbers.
Step 3. Enter Right / O.D. and Left / O.S. Copy SPH for each eye, then the documented CYL and its AXIS where applicable. If zero CYL is confirmed, do not invent an axis.
Step 4. Provide PD according to the product guidance above. Use the separate-measurement option only when you have those measurements.
Step 5. Read both eyes back against the source. Check signs, numbers and the placement of every value before reviewing options and the displayed total. Certain SPH and CYL selections carry additional charges per eye; check the total after entering both eyes as well as after choosing optional additions.
The current dropdowns on these four pages display SPH values from -15.00 to +15.00, CYL values from -8.00 to +8.00 and AXIS choices from 1 to 180. These are the displayed entry choices, not confirmation that every prescription combination or lens design can be supplied. XREAL One / 1S specifically requires a pre-order prescription check.
The current product forms use manual entry. Keep your original document for checking; if a document is needed for clarification, ask the Fovevia team for the appropriate submission route.
When to ask before ordering
- A required value, sign or eye label is missing or unreadable.
- Your prescription includes ADD, prism, a base direction, or a lens design the selected product does not explicitly accept.
- A value is outside the menu, the notation is unfamiliar, or the document and your typed values do not match.
- You have only a contact-lens, reading or computer prescription and do not know whether it is suitable for the selected insert.
- Your exact device variant or PD requirement is unclear.
Describe the exact product and the field or process you need help with. The Fovevia team can explain the review route; do not hide a missing field in an order note or assume an exception is approved because a form lets you continue.
For XREAL One / 1S, email support@fovevia.com before ordering, as instructed on the product listing. For other unclear orders, use the same email to ask how the information should be provided.
Share prescription information through the appropriate route
Do not attach a prescription document or include complete prescription values in the general Contact form or a public message. Use the current product fields for the requested order information. If a document is needed for clarification, ask the Fovevia team which submission route to use.
For a return or remedy request, the existing Returns & Refunds policy allows necessary prescription attachments to be emailed to support@fovevia.com. Follow that policy and send only what the case needs; never send payment credentials. See the Privacy Policy for the handling described for those attachments.
Your final check and correction route
Before confirming, compare the exact device, both eyes, signs, required measurements, lens type, options and total with your intended order. Check production and carrier transit separately in Shipping & Delivery.
If you notice an error after confirmation, email support@fovevia.com within 3 hours after your order confirmation to request a cancellation or correction. The sent time of the email determines whether the request is within the published window. Keep the order reference and identify the exact detail that needs changing.
After that window, changes are not guaranteed. A customer entry error, a manufacturing error and inaccurate published compatibility information have different remedy routes; read Returns & Refunds before ordering.
